About:
Krystian Kowalski is a Warsaw based designer who uniquely bridges the gap between his artistic heritage and industrial rigor. Raised in a family of sculptors, he has always approached design as an analytical process—exploring the "language of objects" through form, materiality, and advanced technology. He is a graduate of the Design Products department at the Royal College of Art in London (MA 2010) and the Faculty of Industrial Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (BA 2006 Hons).
Before establishing his own practice in 2013, Krystian honed his skills at prestigious studios in Warsaw and Milan. His diverse professional background includes co-founding Kompott Studio (FX International Interior Design Award nominee) and serving as Creative Director at Tylko (2016–2021). Today, he collaborates with numerous established furniture and product brands, focusing on intelligent, human-centered solutions that go beyond the obvious.

His practice is rooted in a fascination with manufacturing and an uncompromising attention to detail. Kowalski does not merely design; he "sculpts" a product’s aesthetic within his own workshop, combining advanced 3D modeling with hands-on manual skills. This signature methodology allows him to refine every nuance before production, resulting in solutions that are both artistically bold and commercially successful.
Named Designer of the Year (IWP 2018, 4DD 2025) and a multi-year honoree of the AD100 list, he has solidified his position at the forefront of contemporary Polish design. His works are held in the permanent collections of the National Museums in Warsaw and Krakow.
