The Trim collection is a series of chair and lounge chair designs tailored for office and public spaces, including waiting areas and projection halls. Utilizing honest materials like aluminum sheet, steel rod, and upholstery, the Trim pieces embody a simple yet sophisticated aesthetic. The design highlights a laser-cut aluminum sheet, folded in an origami-like manner, which functions as both a structural component and the defining form. The natural flexibility of the 5mm aluminum sheet also provides enhanced comfort. Developed as my graduation project, the Trim collection represented my initial foray into mass-market design, marking my first experience as an industrial designer while still a student. Nearly two decades later, this project remains significant to me for its enduring aesthetic appeal, ergonomic considerations, and use of materials that are easily disassembled and recyclable.
